Community Forum
? Hi everybody, I have a question and I hope the community can support me. I am looking into ways for my team to get better in writing hypotheses for their growth hack ideas. Would you have any tips or resources to share?
! For writing effective hypotheses for growth hack ideas, try using the "If [we do this], then [this will happen]" format. Be specific about the expected outcome and ensure the hypothesis is testable with clear metrics. For more resources, check out GrowthHackers.com and the book "Hacking Growth" by Sean Ellis and Morgan Brown.
! About the hypothesis structure, if it is what you ask, the main format is the "If _____ [I do this] _____, then _____ [this]_____ will happen. Where the consequence can be expressed in a numerical form. If we make the cancelation link more visible on the subscription page, the conversion will grow to 1.000 users per week. Please observe that the measurement of the result is not given un a rate or % because an absolute number can be more accurate.
As for the quality of ideas, I recommend that, if you are at the very beginning of your growth process, you will have to analyze your data, the customer behavior of your best customers to create the profile, segments, and common actions of them. That's a very important way to identify possible low-hanging fruits and huge errors and improvements that you can assess immediately.
If you are already running experiments, use the results and analysis of your successful test to formulate new ideas with a higher level of confidence and iterate to get more of the results of the learnings you have.
